Here’s How WTM 2018 Helped Forge The Perfect Partnership Between Toast to Thailand & TakeMeTour

Here’s How WTM 2018 Helped Forge The Perfect Partnership Between Toast to Thailand & TakeMeTour

We – Mona and Paul – love travelling and recently launched a website named Toast to Thailand. Toast to Thailand provides travellers with detailed practical information and offers suggestions to those visiting Thailand. While we were making substantial progress on other fronts, we were unable to find a suitable local expert to partner with. Some tour organisers had approached us, and we had evaluated a few, but none seemed right. We were hoping WTM 2018 would change that.

So on Nov 7th 2018, we were very excited to visit WTM as Media Influencers. As we walked past the impressive and colourful exhibits towards the Thailand section, we couldn’t help but marvel at the scale of WTM. Everything was exceptionally managed.

The Thailand section comprised several remarkable stalls. We enjoyed exchanging ideas with industry experts and collected interesting material for our website. The highlight for us, however, was meeting the CEO of TakeMeTour, Taro Amornched. TakeMeTour specialises in one-day tours of sights, attractions, and best-kept secrets of Thailand. A knowledgeable local expert is specially selected to lead each tour.

While TakeMeTour sounded great in theory, we had to make sure their tours were as good as they sounded before we recommended them. Taro kindly offered to host us for a popular day trip. This worked well for us as we already had planned a trip to Thailand in Dec 2018. We exchanged emails after the event and Taro’s marketing team arranged a tour for us in Pattaya, Thailand.

The tour exceeded our expectations in every way. Polly and Dan, our expert guides, were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and great fun. Though we had visited Thailand over 20 times before, we were provided with a fresh perspective. From being picked up at our hotel to the airport drop (we were flying out of Bangkok that day), the tour was perfectly planned. Our guides had thought of everything and managed the entire trip brilliantly. We visited the Pattaya Floating Market and Jomtien beach attended a Cabaret show and spent some time at Pattaya’s Walking Street that day.

By the end of our visit, we were convinced that takemetour.com can be a valuable resource for those visiting Thailand. We now strongly recommend them on our website: toasttothailand.com

The World Travel Market provided us with the perfect platform to meet and collaborate with valuable contacts in the travel industry. Not only is WTM a great place for building business strategy and exchanging ideas,  it also helps build and develop a network of fellow travel entrepreneurs. Attending WTM was an awesome experience, and we hope to attend many more such events in the future.

We are an Indian couple, living in the United States, in love with Thailand. We live to travel and Thailand is where our hearts lie. In November 2013, we quit our jobs from Oracle India to follow our dream of exploring the world. It was a bold step, but turned out to be one of the best decisions we ever made. After spending Christmas with our families, we left home without a definite plan or a return date in mind. All we knew was that we would travel to Southeast Asia, Europe, the US, India, and Bhutan – and that we’d begin with our favourite country: Thailand.
