WTM London 2016 – Final Day Highlights

The halls of ExCeL London were again packed with travel professionals and there was more invaluable content across the impressive WTM Conference and Seminar Programme on the final day.

UNWTO & WTM Ministers’ Summit…
Today may have been the final day, but we saved the best for last with the UNWTO & WTM Ministers’ Summit taking place this morning.

Hot on the heals of Trump’s election victory, more than 50 tourism ministers and leading tourism experts from around the world came together to discuss tourism security, and how to better promote safe and seamless travel.

Following the session we spoke to Taleb D. Rifai, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for an overview of the summit.

Travel Tech…
Travel technology has once again been an important part of WTM London in 2016, with the UK’s largest travel technology exhibition, The Travel Tech Show at WTM London, taking place alongside the event.

In additional to more than 100 tech exhibitors, the WTM Travel Tech Theatre once again proved very popular on day three.

No session more so than this afternoon’s look at safety and security, and if robots or Artificial Intelligence help make travel and tourism safer in today’s challenging times.

We caught up with speaker Richard Singer, President of Travelzoo, straight from the stage for a summary.

The impact of Brexit…
What will the impact of Brexit be on the UK travel market and what opportunities may it present? That was the topic of discussion earlier today when Mintel’s Richard Cope provided the audience with an invaluable insight on global travel patterns.

We caught up with Richard following to find out a little more.

The best of the rest…
