Those of us with wanderlust have a new way to travel the globe, without leaving our homes. Online travel giants AirBnB and TripAdvisor are offering virtual tours and experiences through their websites.
AirBnB may have had to shutter its short-term rental business but has moved to offer unique experiences instead.
They have a variety of virtual guided tours, escape rooms, wine or beer tasting and workouts with Olympians.
Another online tour guide is also finding ways to bring the world to the living room. Viator, run by TripAdvisor, is collecting a range of virtual and video tours. The tours cover cultural highlights, the top sights or entertainment.
Viator are using the #roamfromhome to publicise their tours across social media. We’re particularly enjoying the tour of Grand Causeway in Northern Ireland.
It’s not just the established sites that have moved online though. Guided tours are still available from Travel Curious. Each tour is brought to you by a local with expert knowledge and will show you some of the sites in top cities around the world.
While it might not be the same as visiting these locations around the world, it definitely help’s to cure some of the isolation blues. Check out some of the tours today and get some ideas for your next trip.
