DHISCO beat

Hotel distribution company DHISCO Inc is at WTM London to highlight how its advanced technology can connect properties around the world with online travel agencies, global distribution systems, meta-search engines and other travel partners.

Dallas-based DHISCO recently signed a deal with Cathay Pacific Holidays to connect its travellers with the most up-to-date rates and information from hotels around the globe.

The Hong Kong-based wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, specialises in travel packages and said it chose DHISCO to power its hotel booking engine so that its customers have the most reliable information when planning trips.

Cathay Pacific Holidays managing director Cindy Lee said: “This partnership with DHISCO will facilitate the continued expansion of Cathay Pacific’s ancillary revenue strategy and ensure that our customers are provided with the most competitive hotel rates and latest information.
“We currently offer travel packages in 15 markets and are looking to extend this to many more markets in the short to medium term.”

DHISCO CEO Toni Portmann said the partnership benefits both Cathay Pacific Holidays and DHISCO’s lodging partners.

“DHISCO will give Cathay Pacific Holidays a new avenue into Asia’s fast-growing travel market while giving our hotel partners a new avenue for tapping into that demand,” she said.

“With one simple connection through our DHISCO Switch, Cathay Pacific Holidays will be able to access the latest rates and other important information about our more than 110,000 hotel partners around the globe.”

Since 1989, DHISCO has built its reputation on providing the most efficient and affordable means to market, capture and book hotel reservations. Today, it moves more than 10 billion transactions a month for more than 110,000 hotels.

DHISCO Inc has recently published a White Paper titled: Beyond Push: Developing Intelligent Shopping Solutions for the Future, looking at challenges between hotel companies operating with legacy computer reservation systems, and the growing list of distribution partners seeking faster access to more accurate rates, hotel information and dynamic content.
