A Tale Of Two Cities

Dallas and Fort Worth are positioning themselves as ‘the perfect mix of traditional and contemporary Texas’ at WTM.

Dallas is a city where Southern meets modern and legacy meets luxury, whilst Fort Worth is a destination with a rich Western heritage and a dedication to urban renewal.

With a combined population of over seven million people, it is one of the fastest-growing areas of the US.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the legendary Dallas TV series, which premiered in April 1978. The series put the city on the map and quickly became an icon in American pop culture history, raising awareness and international recognition for the destination.

Dallas has since evolved into a major hub for technology and innovation with 300 millennials moving to the city each month.

It also offers residents and guests alike a fantastic culinary scene from food trucks to fine dining, as well as the newly launched Margarita Mile, enabling Margarita aficionados to download an app which tells them where to find the best versions of the cocktail and visit the best bars the city has to offer.

Dallas also boasts impressive luxury shopping and a vibrant nightlife, an impressive Arts District and is home to the legendary NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Fort Worth is home to the world’s only twice-daily cattle drive and year-round rodeo in the famed Stockyards Historic District, the lively downtown Sundance Square and a renowned Cultural District complete with the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame and the Kimbell Art Museum.

Visitors can enjoy the Fort Worth Ale Trail featuring 10 breweries and Whiskey Ranch, savour cowboy cuisine and enjoy over 40 live music venues including Billy Bob’s Texas — the world’s largest honky-tonk.

Travellers inspired by the western heritage can get their personalised cowboy hat and custom-made boots fitted in local boutique shops.
