The beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel in Florida are wooing holidaymakers with a focus on their nature and wildlife.
Following research by the region’s tourist board, campaigns will target bird-watchers, nature lovers and those with an interest in responsible tourism and voluntourism.
Fort Myers and Sanibel have more than 50 miles of beach and more than 100 barrier islands.
The destination is home to species such as dolphins, manatees, alligators, spoonbills and egrets.
Other tourism products being promoted at WTM London include a beer and distillery trail; a Guinness World Record title for the largest human image of a seashell, to mark the wide variety of shells to be found; and a multimillion-dollar refurbishment at the Westin Cape Coral Resort.
