DidaTravel shines spotlight on technology for agents

Accommodation wholesaler DidaTravel Technology has launched an initiative to help Chinese travel agents increase their sales and target customers on social media.

The scheme is called Dida B&R, which stands for Belt & Road and echoes the name of the Chinese government’s infrastructure plans linking China with Europe and Africa.

It will see DidaTravel provide a booking platform for Chinese travel agents and help them to make the most of their client base via social networks such as WeiBo, WeChat, Xiaohongshu (RED) and Tik-Tok.

Rikin Wu, Chief Executive of Dida Travel, said his company aims to support Chinese agents with “the knowledge, technology and the right resources” to help them offer more choices to customers beyond the major online travel agencies.

DidaTravel will be at WTM London to demonstrate its plans for Chinese agents, as well as its B2B hotel wholesaler and distribution services.

Based in Shenzhen, China, the rapidly growing company connects China’s outbound travel demands and global hotel suppliers.

Founded in 2012, it now offers more than 700,000 hotels around the world to travel agencies.

DidaTravel also has more than 8,500 directly contracted hotels and resorts in South East Asia, in destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Bali, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Its total turnover in 2018 was more than $418 million.
