Aristi Mountain Resort and Villas, in north-western Greece, is using its wild and rugged location to attract experienced trekkers and intermediate hikers alike.
The resort is in west Zagori, Epirus, off-the-beaten-track for most tourists and even the trekking community.
The natural attractions include the Vikos Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, the Towers of Astraka and Drakolimna Lake. The crystal clear waters of the Voidomatis River create an idyllic backdrop. Old arched stone bridges, cobbled streets, picturesque village squares are also featured.
Another star attraction is the Steps of Vradeto, a 200-year old cobbled path with 1000 steps, taking in the views of the Vikos Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world.
Staff at the resort have curated the walks to cover all levels of ability and experience, starting at intermediate.
