When we announced WTM would be a fully virtual event last month, the question we were frequently asked was ‘how will the virtual event compare to the physical WTM London event?’
We’re excited to be able to offer everything you would usually expect from us in virtual form. From insightful conference sessions, to the opportunity to meet with people ‘face-to-face’, read on to find out how you can make the most of your WTM Virtual experience…
We recommend to use Chrome as your browser when accessing the WTM Virtual platform. Don’t use Internet Explorer as you might experience technical difficulties.
Plan your time
We have nearly 50 conference sessions available to WTM Virtual attendees. This includes all of the sessions happening at London Travel Week from 30th October. Other sessions include a Travel Forward conference programme, Responsible Tourism conference programme, Aviation sessions with Ryanair and JetBlue CEOs and Destination Briefings.
Attending the conference sessions that are important to you is easy on our virtual platform. Once you’ve registered and completed your profile, you will be able to select the conference sessions that are of most interest to you and add them to your diary. This will ensure you don’t miss out on the sessions you have the most interest in.
Attend conference sessions
Our conference programme for WTM Virtual certainly packs a punch, with a focus on recovering, rebuilding and innovating.
During these sessions you will have the opportunity to ask the speakers and panellists your burning questions. All you will have to do is type them in and they will answer them live.
Our virtual platform allows you to duck in and out of sessions. You’ll be able to see which sessions are live at each point during the day, making it easy to pick and choose what you tune in to. You’ll be able to join sessions with one simple click.
Session clash? You can watch each session on demand anytime during the virtual event, so even if you can’t watch everything live it will still be accessible to you.
If you’re not sure where to start, we recommend attending the one-to-one interview with Ryanair Group CEO, Michael O’Leary (10th November, 10am), BBC Global News Destination Session (10th November, 2:30pm) and Tourism Talent for the future (11th November, 3:30pm).
Organise one-to-one meetings
Meeting face-to-face has been near impossible this year. Therefore, we are thrilled to be facilitating meetings at WTM Virtual. While your meetings may be through a screen, the video element will allow you to connect with the right exhibitors where you can also share video, imagery and presentations with them.
As a trade visitor, you can upgrade your ticket for £20 to get access to this highly valuable feature. Your upgraded ticket will allow you to organise five pre-scheduled meetings with exhibitors for up to 30 minutes at a time.
We know connecting with the right people is important, especially during this time of uncertainty. We hope this feature will help you to meet with the right people for your business.
Find relevant business contacts
We know there has been a lot of change within the travel industry, and we hope the platform will help you to find and re-connect with the most relevant people for your business goals.
Once you have completed your profile, the platform will recommend the best business contacts for you meaning finding the right contacts and booking meetings is easy and stress-free.
Rather than spending hours searching for the best person to talk to, WTM Virtual will allow you to quickly find your lost connections and rebuild your contacts.
We look forward to welcoming you at WTM Virtual, and hope this guide has helped you to ensure you have the best time at our event. Please do let us know if you have any questions below.
