The Country is investing in and honouring the 5th edition of this event, which has become a reference in the region

A friendly country and one that is home to a wonderful gastronomy and numerous attractions, Uruguay will be present at the 5th edition of WTM Latin America, which will take place between April 4th and April 6th, at the Expo Center Norte Exhibition Centre, in the city of São Paulo.

In order to promote the destination along with its economy, the country is once again  investing in the event and its stand will also count on the participation of the country’s Minister of Tourism, Liliam Kechichian, who will come to Brazil, to honour the exhibition and to publicize Uruguay’s attractions.

“Uruguay is a traditional partner of WTM Latin America and this partnership is reinforced with the presence of Minister Liliam Kechichian, which is very gratifying for us and confirms the strength of the event in the Latin American region,” stressed Lawrence Reinisch, WTM Latin America’s director.

The Uruguayan minister will also be taking part in the Meeting of Latin American Ministers that is being promoted by Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism on the second day of the event, April 5th, which will bring together authorities from other countries to discuss the integration among Latin American countries to encourage Tourism; the creation of integrated itineraries; and the funding of small, medium and large events for the region based on Brazil’s experience with the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.

“WTM is the top Latin American tourism event and we cannot be left out of this global event. We will be taking part with great expectations of the event, as it provides us with an interesting opportunity to establish important contacts”, said Uruguay’s Minister of Tourism, Liliam Kechichian.
