The meeting took place in São Paulo on 11/9 and prompted reflections that highlight a trend in the hotel market
WTM Latin America is the leading global event for the Latin American travel industry and is still focusing fully on the agenda for this year’s “Leaders’ Meetings”. This week, Luciane Leite, director of WTM Latin America, had a meeting with the director for Latin America of the Hotel Solutions (HRS Group) business unit, Phelipe Farah. The executive, who heads up the operations of this area in the company, manages the relationship between corporations and hotel chains for business with a corporate focus. He brought to the meeting proposals and suggestions that have boosted the tourism and travel industry.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Laura Meneses, Latin America Marketing Manager of the HRS Group, and Bianca Pizzolito, Sales Manager for WTM Latin America, the executives were also able to assess and discuss the opportunities and possibilities of the local market, the directions that the hotel sector has followed in recent years, trends in the sector and other biases that strengthen the segment.
“All segments in the tourism and travel industry are fundamental for boosting the market and providing solutions that meet a wide variety of demands. The corporate and business travel segment has become increasingly stronger and the Latin American region has stood out in the world”, Luciane stressed. “These agendas are essential for assessing the demands, trends and opportunities we’ve been able to leverage together.”
“Finding the WTM Latin America team was very positive for understanding the objective of the show and the event’s new focus, which is highlighting corporate travel, has impressed us more and more. These contacts enrich the market to the extent that we have the opportunity to debate and align the different demands for different audiences in this segment,” said Farah, who added: “HRS is part of this and involved in transforming this market. Participating at the key moments in which the market finds itself is fundamental for understanding the needs of the hotel and company markets, and translating this into opportunities for both sides.”
HRS is a global hotel booking site for business and private travellers offering over 300,000 hotels in 190 countries and over 400,000 houses and holiday apartments for booking in Europe.
WTM Latin America is scheduled to take place in São Paulo between April 2-4, 2019, at Expo Center Norte.
