WTM Latin America announces Ecuador as an exhibitor: the country that divides the world brings new features to the pavilion

Situated between the southern and northern hemispheres, this destination presents its natural beauties, diversified itineraries and a new air route to Brazil

At its 7th edition which will take place from April 2nd to April 4th at Expo Center Norte, in the capital of São Paulo, WTM Latin America will welcome Ecuador as an exhibitor in the pavilion of Latin American destinations.

The country, which has exhibited at the event since 2013, believes that being at the show is extremely important, since the three days provide intense networking, which drives the generation of business and boosts the opening of new channels and possibilities, leveraging not only the visiting country’s economy, but also – the tourism and travel chain as a whole.

For Ecuador’s Tourism Minister, Rosi Prado de Holguín, taking part in WTM Latin America “contributes significantly to strengthening the image of the Ecuadorian Tourism Ministry, positioning us as an organization that supports the development of tourism on an international scale. The holding of this event in Brazil makes it possible to intensify the promotion of Ecuador in an environment where the Latin American and global tourism industry comes together – as well as bringing together media that are recognized throughout the region”, stresses Rosi.

According to Luciane Leite, WTM Latin America’s director, the presence of Latin American countries strengthens the potential that they represent for the tourism industry and for visitors to the event. “We have a diverse pool of destinations from many continents. To receive Ecuador in our pavilion, with new features especially created for professionals in the industry and for the press, as is the case with Adventure Connect and the press conference, highlights the result that the event brings in terms of generating business for the destination and for the entire tourism and travel chain”, says Luciane.

Press conference and activations

On Tuesday, April 2nd, the social event Adventure Connect will be held at the country’s stand. With a focus on Ecotourism, the encounter is aimed at the segment of professionals who are specialized in adventure tourism and will get underway at 17:20. While on Wednesday, April 3rd, there will be a press conference, from 13:45 to 14:45, in the exhibition centre’s press room, the Seminar Room. At the meeting there will be a presentation of the destination’s new features, with the participation of representatives from the airline GOL, who will provide more information about the new Quito-Sao Paulo-Quito route, followed by a gastronomic activation, to be held at Ecuador’s stand.
Over the course of the three days, the destination will present, along with ten other sharers – including tour operators, travel agencies, hotels and municipal companies – the beauties of the “four worlds”: the Galápagos Islands, the Pacific Coast, the Andes and the Amazon region. The industry’s professionals will also be able to check out how the best cocoa and chocolate are produced with the product “Ecuador Land of Chocolate” along with the various options in terms of adventure tourism and romantic itineraries among others. Another new feature is the activation with a sensory experience in 3D, by means of which it will be possible to visit the destination virtually.

Despite only covering a relatively small amount of territory, Ecuador provides the tourist with unique facts. Among them is the mixture between the power of volcanoes, with the charm of the colonial cities and the rich fauna of the Galapagos Islands. And its capital Quito takes pride in having been declared humanity’s first cultural heritage site, which was earned as a result of its historic centre, the old city – which has museums, churches and restored cultural centres that guarantee a visit to the past for those who stroll through its alleyways . Well worth the visit!

Open to: travel and tourism professionals; members of the press (restricted credentials for publishers, journalists, photographers, broadcasters and bloggers/influencers); government authorities and buyers (only those buyers who meet the program’s criteria can receive a WTM Buyers’ Club badge).
