WTM Latin America presents its Advisory Board 2018

Constituted by leaders from the tourist trade, the group’s objective and the challenge it faces will be how to guarantee the brand’s strategic growth

Responsible for one of the most important roles for developing WTM Latin America and for its success, the Advisory Board has been formed for the 2018 management. With the arrival of these eight executives the team now comprises 16 of the most important names in the travel and tourism industry in Brazil.

The new faces in the group are Monica Samia, CEO of BRAZTOA, Gabriela Otto, founder of GO Consultoria, Gustavo Syllos, CMO for Costa do Sauípe, Rodrigo Cézar, CEO of ALAGEV, Orlando de Souza, executive director of FOHB, Paulo Salvador, global director of Omnibees, Ricardo Ferreira, a shareholder of ALATUR JTB, and Wellington Costa, regional director of GBTA Brasil.

Still on the committee are Jeanine Pires, Chair of the Advisory Board of WTM Latin America and director of Pires e Associados, Elizabeth Wada, Coordinat0r of Post-graduate Studies for Anhembi Morumbi University, Mariana Aldrigui, PhD and a researcher with EACH/ USP, JeanPhilippe Pérol, owner-partner of Amazon Rio Negro/Conscientious Tourism,  Magda Nassar, CEO of Braztoa, Marco Ferraz, CEO of Clia Abremar Basil, Pablo Sismanian, Director of Products and Tourism Destinations of Inprotur (Argentina), Toni Sando, CEO of the São Paulo Convention, & Visitors Bureau (SPC&VB).

All members are highly recognized professionals in the industry who have vast international expertise. They represent the regional interests of visitors, exhibitors, buyers and trade associations. “Our Advisory Board brings together great names in the industry, the idea being to guide WTM Latin America’s actions and ideas by following, or even establishing trends in the most assertive way possible. The main objective is to ensure the strategic development of WTM”, says Luciane Leite, Director of WTM Latin America.

WTM London this year will be held from 6 to 8 November and is celebrating the participation by 60 new exhibitors from different parts of the world, such as the Balkan country of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the former Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan and Vietnam in Southeast Asia. There are also exhibitors coming from Australia, Bahrain, Ghana, Iceland, Lithuania and Sri Lanka. In addition to these new entrants, many exhibitors have also decided to upgrade in order to have more space during the event.

The world’s largest travel and tourism show is expected to be responsible for generating some $ 3 billion in business that will be agreed by more than 5,000 exhibitors and nearly 10,000 industry buyers.
