WTM Latin America receives a “giant of the seas” in the 7th edition of the event

Cruising is a segment that increased in the 2017/2018 season and proof of this is the presence of Norwegian Cruise Line in the pavilion, with its launch confirmed for 2019

Going on a cruise is a different experience and one that provides knowledge of various destinations on a single voyage. It’s having luxury, comfort and fun, all at the same time and in the same place. WTM Latin America, now in its 7th edition, which takes place on 2 – 4 April at Expo Center Norte in Sao Paulo, is welcoming cruise exhibitors.

Norwegian Cruise Line will be introducing the Norwegian Encore at the event, a new and extremely modern ship that is the company’s 17th cruise liner, which is scheduled to be launched this autumn. The ship can carry four thousand passengers and will travel on a seven-day weekly route in the Caribbean, departing from the port in Miami. Its inaugural voyage is confirmed for 24 November.

For Estela Farina, managing director of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings- NCLH in Brazil, exhibiting at WTM Latin America is a great opportunity. “The event offers tourism exhibitors a unique opportunity to speak directly to their sales channels, with the effectiveness you expect. For Norwegian Cruise Line, WTM Latin America is an efficient way to launch our new season products and reaffirm partnerships by way of personal contact with tourism professionals,” says the executive.

According to forecast data from CLIA Brasil (Brazilian Association of Maritime Cruises), which were published at the end of last year, the 2018/2019 season of maritime cruises is likely to have a recognizable impact on the Brazilian economy by generating an amount in excess of R$ 2 billion, considering a 15% increase in the total number of passengers when compared to the previous season of 2017/2018. In the 2017/2018 season, more than R$ 1.792 billion were injected into the Brazilian economy, which is 11.5% more than in the 2016/2017 season, an increase of R$ 185 million.
