International exhibitors confirm their presence at WTM Latin America Virtual

International destinations and services present news in the first fully virtual edition of the event

São Paulo, 04th August 2021 – On the next 10th, 11th and 12th of August, the first 100% virtual edition of WTM Latin America will take place. The event will be held on an online platform and will feature the presence of several international destinations and services, who will take advantage of the space to disseminate their news and relevant information.

Among the confirmed exhibitors are Egypt, Saint Petersburg, Dubai, Orlando, Israel and Poland. In addition to companies such as Meliá International Hotels, Nowergian Cruise Line, Shiji Group, among others.

Focusing on the resumption of post-Covid Tourism, exhibitors want to take advantage of the moment to reposition themselves and strengthen relations with the Latin American market. As is the example of Poland, a tourist destination that has Brazil as one of the main markets of interest, as the country is home to many descendants of Poles who emigrated to the region before World War II.

According to Dorota Zadrozna, project manager at the Polish Tourism Organization, Brazil and Argentina are the two countries with the highest incidence of Polish colonies in Latin America.

“In 2019, we received 27,000 Brazilians in our country and 15,000 visitors from Argentina. We believe in an even greater number of tourists from these countries. However, many have European passports and are not counted as Latin American visitors from countries of origin”, she points out.

Due to the pandemic, the destination remains closed to Latin American tourists, with the exception of residents, relatives of Polish citizens, or work and study permits. However, Poland continues to promote the country abroad and presents itself as a modern and safe destination, but at the same time full of history (cities, monuments, UNESCO heritage), with good food and products.

“We have supported our private tourist chain and carried out a series of activities to find new markets and opportunities. WTM Latin America will be an excellent way to give even more visibility to the country”, says Dorota.

Countries like Egypt and Israel, on the other hand, have more flexible measures regarding the entry of tourists from Latin American destinations, making the promotion of destinations in this market even more advantageous.

For Simon Mayle, director of WTM Latin America, the investment by these countries in this year’s event demonstrates the breadth of possibilities that the post-pandemic will bring to the industry. “The participation of these countries is very gratifying and opens up new fronts for action and networking. The tourist chain is very resilient and events such as WTM Latin America contribute to an efficient and safe recovery”, highlights.
