Teatro Trends at WTM Latin America 2025: the future of tourism up for debate

The space will show unprecedented cases and valuable insights for professionals, highlighting a study on the megatrends predicted for the region

Every year, WTM Latin America reinforces its role as an essential space for educating and updating professionals in the industry. Once again, in 2025, Teatro Trends stands out as one of the main pillars of this mission, bringing together experts and leaders to discuss issues that have been transforming tourism in the region.

Inspired by the edition’s central theme, “Where tech meets touch”, the space will focus on how technological innovations can be implemented without losing the essence of human connections.

“This approach represents an evolution in relation to previous editions, when we discussed topics such as the metaverse and artificial intelligence, now drawing attention to the balance between innovation and humanization,” says Virgínia Marques, Marketing Manager at WTM Latin America. This direction is at the core of the proposal for the space, which aims to promote debates and reflections on emerging trends and innovations in the tourism industry. “We want to provide a space where professionals can keep up to date with changes in the market, exploring new ideas and strategies that are shaping the future of the industry,” says Virgínia.

The program has been strategically organized to offer a variety of formats, including talks, panels and interactive workshops. Among the highlights is Skift, which will bring the panel “Top Megatrends Shaping the Latin American Travel Industry in 2025 and Beyond”, an in-depth study on the main trends that will impact the sector in Latin America, with a presentation confirmed for April 14 at 1 pm. Another important moment will be the launch of the Accessible Tourism App, led by Jéssica Paula, on the same day at 6.15 pm, which emphasizes the importance of inclusion in the sector.

In addition, Braztoa will present the study “Olhar Braztoa 2025”, sharing valuable insights into the tourism outlook for the coming years. The event will also feature the “Integration of Latin America” panel, promoted by Skal International, exploring the opportunities for regional cooperation in the sector. “These unprecedented studies will offer an in-depth view of consumer behavior, digital transformations, new demands for sustainability and inclusion, as well as pointing out strategic paths for professionals working in tourism,” he says.

One of the distinguishing features of Teatro Trends is the participation of renowned companies and associations, which will present unprecedented studies on consumer behavior, digital transformation, sustainability and inclusion. For Virginia, rigorous curation is essential to provide relevant and impactful content. “Our goal is to offer valuable insights that inform, inspire and empower tourism professionals to adapt and thrive in a scenario of accelerated change,” she says.

Teatro Trends 2025 will not only be a learning environment, but also a meeting point for networking and exchanging experiences. The aim is for participants to leave the event better informed and prepared to face the challenges and opportunities that the future holds for tourism in Latin America.

“WTM Latin America has always stood out for offering an environment of genuine, high-impact knowledge exchange. This year, the Teatro Trends reinforces this commitment by bringing discussions that can really transform the way we do tourism. It’s a unique opportunity for those who want to get ahead, understand what’s coming and prepare for the challenges that the next few years will bring,” concludes Virginia.

Looking to the future and with its feet firmly planted in the reality of the present, Teatro Trends promises to be an essential space for all those who wish to understand and shape the direction of tourism in the coming years.
