Mariana Aldrigui is a university lecturer and researcher and works to bring together academia and the labour market. She supervises and coordinates projects linked to the development of Brazilian tourism in all its aspects and works directly with placing talented young people in companies in the sector. She has been a lecturer in Tourism in the University of São Paulo since 2006, from which she also received her BA in Tourism (1998), Master’s degree in Communication Sciences (2003) and PhD in Human Geography (2011), and where she is a researcher in public policies in tourism, tourism in global cities and education for tourism. She coordinates the actions of the NGO, Global Travel & Tourism Partnership, in Brazil and its expansion to the rest of Latin America. She collaborates with different communication vehicles, with texts that support the discussions necessary for the advance of tourism. She also takes part in different multidisciplinary teams that deal with tourism in public administration and was one of the co-authors of the Municipal Tourism Plan for São Paulo.
