#ATMDubai 2018 Day One – The Highlights!

At midday today the 25th edition of Arabian Travel Market, the leading global event for the Middle East, got underway!

Inbound and outbound tourism professionals filled the halls, all here to discover 2,800 products and destinations from around the world and access an invaluable education programme.

First-up was a look at how to create a Unique Selling Proposition on social media and integrate this into your travel business to drive sales.

Moderator Shane Dallas of The Travel Camel was joined in the Travel Tech Theatre by Facebook’s Travel Lead, Khaled Absi Halabi and Tom Otton of Create Media Group for an insightful conversation on this hot topic.

Future Travel Experiences…
Kicking off proceedings on the prestigious ATM Global Stage today was look into the future.

With the way in which we ‘travel’ set to rapidly evolve over the next few years, this timely session addressed everything from new modes of transport to in-flight and airport experiences.

Joining this morning’s high-profile panel was Virgin Hyperloop One’s, Harj Dhaliwal. We caught-up with Harj straight from the stage for his views on what lies ahead.

Distribution evolution and latest industry trends…
This afternoon in the Travel Tech Theatre was a look at how emerging technologies and trends are disrupting the landscape of the travel industry.

The session provided an in-depth insight into how travel operators are adapting to deal with these changes and in particular an increasing focus on, and demand for, personalisation and merchandising technology.

Following the session, we spoke to panelist Jorge Vilches, Senior Vice President, Air Line of Business at Sabre for a round-up of the key points:
