#WTMLDN Day 2 – The Highlights!

The halls were buzzing again on day two at WTM London 2017.  Exhibitors continued to meet and conduct business deals with the thousands of industry professionals from around the world.

Maximising Revenue in the Luxury Travel Space…
A look at luxury travel kicked off today’s event programme, with Anthony Berklich, Founder of Inspired Citizen, providing expert advice on how to maximise revenue with minimal investment and how to dissect your product into tangible points of sale.

We caught up with Anthony in the WTM Inspired Theatre following his session to find out more.

Getting Food Tourism Right…
Almost all travellers now seek memorable food and beverage yet their needs in this area are still going unmet, that was the message from Erik Wolf, Founder of World Food Travel Association and Jean Michel, Co-Founder of Vizeat earlier today on the Platinum Suite stage.

We chatted to Jean Michel following this insightful look at how to get food tourism right, here is what he had to say.

Oceans of Plastic…
Plastics are, after carbon, arguably our number one environmental threat according to Ian Rowlands of Incredible Oceans and Dr Geoff Brightly of the Plastic Oceans Foundation.

This popular WTM Responsible Tourism Theatre session provided a in-depth look at what those of us in tourism can do to address the problem.

We spoke to Geoff following the session for a round-up of the key points.

Growth is not the enemy, it is how we manage it…
There was an air of prestige over on the WTM Global Stage this afternoon, when the UNWTO & WTM Ministers’ Summit got underway.

Tourism Minister and captains of industry from around the world came together to debate overtourism and how to manage and capitalise on this.

Following the summit we spoke to Minister of Tourism from Costa Rica, Mauricio Ventura, for a summary of some of the key points.

The best of the rest…
Down on the show floor the halls were again buzzing on day two as travel professionals from around the globe continued to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business, here is a look inside this mornings speed networking session:
