The International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), the world’s premier global event for golf tourism suppliers, buyers and media, has announced it will welcome a host of new exhibitors to Mallorca.
The 2016 event, November 14-17, will see more than 10,000 business meetings take place over the four days at Son Termes and is expected to be the most international edition ever, with more than 450 exhibitors, including over 60 first-time suppliers from countries including Japan, Azerbaijan, Panama, Brazil and Jordan.
Motoki Fukui, a representative of Prince Hotels and Resorts, Japan, a new exhibitor, commented: “Our first visit to IGTM coincides with our 80th anniversary and we will be proud to showcase the Fuji Course, ranked 67th in Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Courses in The World for 2015, and host of the prestigious Fuji Sankei Ladies Classic for the past 11 years.”
Alongside new exhibitors, emerging golf travel destinations including Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Poland, Oman and Kenya have also announced their participation at IGTM this year.
Jacinta Nzioka-Mbithi, Kenya Tourism Board’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, said: “Over the years we have developed many other new tourism products, beyond our great beaches and wildlife, that have set us apart from other countries. Golf is one of the products that adds value to the Kenyan experience and we are excited to present it at IGTM.”
Peter Grimster, IGTM Exhibition Manager, added: “The support of world-class destinations from every corner of the world ensures IGTM remains an important global golf tourism event for delegates and exhibitors, generating new business and developing existing relationships.
“The number of new and returning exhibitors for the 2016 edition highlights the health of the global golf tourism market and underlines the importance of IGTM as a hub for new business discussion and networking.”
