The initiative is part of the Leaders Meeting programme, headed up by the event’s directors
The team from WTM Latin America met with Aerolíneas Argentinas and MPI Brasil to discuss partnerships and opportunities that focus on developing actions for the 8th edition of the event that will take place in Sao Paulo from 31 March to 2 April 2020.
Luciane Leite, WTM Latin America’s director, Thais Del Ben, the event’s Marketing Manager and Claudia Delfino, its Sales Coordinator, were welcomed by Aerolíneas Argentinas CEO, Diógenes Toloni, and the company’s Commercial Director, Ivan Cadahia Blanco. The meeting marked the first conversation between the directors to discuss a partnership that focuses on increasing the attendance at the event of travel managers and international travel agents and to talk about the buyer’s programme.
Diogenes Toloni believes that starting to deal with matters early on means that the flow of the negotiations will be better organized. “There’s a good opportunity for a partnership and the generation of business, and we’re confident that the results are going to be good,” the executive stresses.
Roberta Nonis, president of MPI Brasil, was responsible for renewing the content partnership with WTM Latin America. In the event’s 8th edition the association will take part on the day dedicated to MICE, which was presented for the first time this year. Because it was popular with the visiting public it will be included in the event calendar.
“The MICE segment is growing fast in Brazil. Providing training and special content that helps publicize best practices and trends in this area gives us a great opportunity to promote MICE and help the professionals who work in this sector,” says Roberta.
The schedule of meetings of WTM Latin America’s directors is extensive and covers the whole of the tourism chain. “We’re already starting to think about the 2020 event and focusing on further enhancing the capabilities of the public visiting WTM Latin America. We’re surrounding ourselves with good partners both in commercial terms and with regard to the content that’s going to be included in the next edition,” Luciane points out.
