Hafsa Gaher is the Creator and Director of the Halal Travel Network, a vibrant connector of professionals within tourism and hospitality, bridging the gap between businesses and destinations and amplifying Muslim-friendly travel prospects. While starting the Network during the COVID lockdown, Hafsa is also the founder of award-winning Tour Operator Archer & Gaher Adventures, with years of experience in curating bespoke adventures to Africa and the Middle East. Hafsa works at the forefront of inclusive tourism and has particular expertise and interest in ensuring that Muslim tourists are not limited in their ability to travel to all of the wonderful destinations the world has to offer. The Halal Travel Network was born of this principle and works with destinations around the globe to increase understanding within destinations about what Muslim travellers are looking for and marketing these destinations to Muslim clients. Hafsa is particularly passionate about destinations that are not traditionally seen as being Muslim-friendly and has made recent overtures to work with the likes of South Africa, Qatar and Malawi to name a few. Hafsa is a staunch supporter of women in the tourism industry, engaging with groups such as Women in Travel CIC as a mentor while also setting up mentoring programmes for African-owned travel companies across the continent.
