Case study: Slovenian Tourist Board (STB)
We recently spoke with Maja Pak, Director at the STB and Frank Marr, from AM+A Marketing and Media Relations, who represents the STB to the UK market and we were delighted to find out how powerful Slovenia’s ITTA Gold for Best in Wellness really was.
After facing some tough competition in this category, Slovenia walked away with Gold for their ‘Healthy Waters’ promotional campaign, which highlighted spa tourism and wellness tourism for two years.
Here’s more about the winning campaign and what it achieved…
The expert judges were impressed by the tourist board’s wide range of projects to promote spa and wellness resorts, most notably a successful global digital campaign.
The award “further strengthened” Slovenia’s reputation for health tourism, sustainability and high-quality tourism products.
The recognition has helped to create a higher profile for Slovenia generally and generated “great feedback” from business partners, even several months after the awards ceremony.
The victory also boosted motivation and morale among staff and has helped to attract talent when it has been recruiting.
This is how they promoted their win…
The tourist board featured its accolade in press releases, on its website, and via its social media channels.
The ITTA team also sent a winners pack out to all the successful candidates from the evening. This contains a winners logo, template press release and a certificate.
Here’s what else they found useful when entering…
The tourist board found it was also a useful process to look back at its campaign in detail during the awards application process.
“This was a major success for the whole organisation,” concluded Pak. “All the sectors in our company were involved in this project and this resulted in numerous offline and online activities.”
Not only did Slovenia walk away with Gold, but AM+A Marketing and Media Relations was rated as highly commended in the category for Best Tourism Marketing Agency for its project ‘Supporting Slovenia Tourism Board’s World Bee Day: Introducing Api Tourism to the World’.
