Destination Canada’s UK office will promote the launch of the ‘Travel Agency of the Year’ category in the 2018 British Annual Canada Travel Awards.
The awards scheme is one of the longest consecutively held travel awards in the business and marks its 28th anniversary in 2018.
The new category will be the first time that the tourist office has honoured UK travel agencies with an award in recognition of their promotion of Canada to customers.
Adam Hanmer, Travel Trade Manager at Destination Canada, said the tourist board will be at World Travel Market London in November to outline the process and criteria for travel agencies that want to enter.
“We are excited to be giving travel agencies – which form such an important part of the selling model for consumers wanting to visit Canada – the opportunity to be recognised for excellence in the promotion of Canada,” he said.
The winning agency and two finalists can promote their status with a Winner and Finalist logo which can be used online and elsewhere.
The British Annual Canada Travel Awards also recognise the best tour operator, in a category which is voted for by members of the industry.
Other honours include the Keep Exploring Award for best Canada marketing campaign; recognition of the best individual travel agent; and two media categories.
The 2018 event will take place on 27 February 2018 in central London.
