TAP Portugal, the country’s airline, will be on the Visit Portugal stand to highlight latest developments including a London City-Lisbon service that launches in time for WTM London.
The service launches on October 29 2017, operating twice-daily on weekdays and once a day at weekends and compliments services already available from Heathrow and Gatwick.
With the new addition to its network, TAP becomes the only airline to connect London City and the cosmopolitan destination of Lisbon, and the first airline to fly this route in the 30 years London City Airport has been operating.
2017 also saw TAP launch a new branded-fare concept for international flights, aimed at providing a more tailored and convenient experience.
Customers travelling to Brazil, Africa, Venezuela, Canada and USA with TAP-operated flights can now choose and pay only for the services required.
In addition, this summer TAP re-opened its exclusive lounge in Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport, as well as celebrating the first anniversary of its Portugal Stopover programme by continuing to make the offer more attractive, including increasing the stopover duration from three days to five.
The latest initiatives highlight a continuation of TAP’s reinforced focus on the UK market, which resulted in a 20.3% increase in the number of passengers travelling between London and Lisbon in the first quarter of 2017, year-on-year.
