Work has begun on assembling Windermere Lake Cruises’ brand-new 300-seat boat, MV Swift.

It is currently on-schedule to take to the water next year. It will be the largest craft to be ‘launched’ onto Windermere for more than 80 years.

Netherlands-based boat-builder, Damen, is overseeing the construction. Modules are being delivered and assembled onsite.

The new vessel will boast three decks but will be slightly shorter in length than Windermere Lake Cruises’ existing steamers MV Swan and MV Teal. MV Swift can access smaller jetties to help support other local businesses.
