Oman continues to expand its tourism offering and visitors to WTM London can find out about new hotel openings, tourist attractions and improved infrastructure.
InterContinental Hotel Group, Kempinski Hotels, Four Seasons and Banyan Tree are among international names that have opened properties in the sultanate this year.
Attractions include Oman’s first oceanarium and aquarium, the Oman Botanic Garden and a new National Museum, shortly due to be completed in Old Muscat.
In addition, Oman’s new Salalah International Airport commenced operations in June, ensuring easier access to Salalah, especially to the Dhofar region.
Salalah International Airport has been designed to accommodate Oman’s fast growing tourism, processing two million passengers annually.
Oman has maintained its reputation as being one of the safest countries for tourists, according to the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report for 2015. The latest statistics from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) report, place the sultanate 9th out of 141 countries worldwide under the security and safety criteria.
