Dragon Trail Interactive is bringing relevant content to WTM Latin America about the behaviour of Chinese tourists

The Asian marketing agency will be promoting its new website during the event, which takes place in São Paulo, and discussing smart possibilities and strategies for attracting these tourists to Latin American destinations

For the first time, WTM Latin America, the leading B2B travel and tourism event in Latin America, will be welcoming to this seventh edition the digital marketing agency, Dragon Trail Interactive. Exhibiting between 2 and 4 April in Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, the agency focuses entirely on Chinese tourists, which makes it a source of information for those who are looking to find out more about the profile and tastes of Chinese tourists who are seeking to explore other countries and continents.

Dragon Trail Interactive, which has already exhibited at WTM London on other occasions, is launching its new site, which is all in Spanish, in this 7th edition of WTM Latin America. Something else that’s new is that on its website tourism professionals can watch a series of videos entitled “China Outbound Travel Pulse”, which is available with English and Spanish subtitles and that shows Chinese citizens on trips to Latin America, including interviews with them. The website also carries a report on the trips that Chinese tourists make in South America, the aim being to provide valuable information for companies and destinations that want to attract this public, whose purchasing power has been increasing over the years and that has a recurring interest in exploring other countries.

“We understand that Latin America has a great advantage when it comes to attracting the more affluent and experienced travellers from China”, explains Sienna Parulis-Cook, communications manager at Dragon Trail Interactive. “On our stand and during our presentation on Wednesday, 4 April, we’re going to be showing participants some effective digital tools that will help the travel and tourism trade understand the Chinese market and disseminate destinations to potential Chinese consumers.”

By being present and exhibiting at WTM Latin America, the executive, whose office is in New York (USA), expects to learn about the needs of the Latin American travel industry. She will also be providing valuable information on how to attract Chinese tourists and directing tourist organizations on how to capture the Chinese market and its potential. “China is a very digital, smart market in terms of mobility both for B2B and B2C tourism marketing. But it has a complete set of digital tools, including OTAs, search mechanisms and social media that are completely different from those used in the rest of the world. We’d like to present these digital platforms and provide examples of how they are already being actually used by destinations in Latin America, such as Peru, Panama and Argentina,” the executive points out. Sienna also stresses the importance of the face-to-face contact that the fair offers in terms of meeting up with former contacts, the possibility of arranging new partners and the generation of business. For Luciane Leite, director of WTM Latin America, having a Chinese digital marketing agency at the show is proof that WTM Latin America has opened its doors to various segments in the event. “We’re very happy to have Dragon Trail as an exhibitor, which is going to show us how the Latin American tourism market can attract Chinese tourists. We have a favourable climate, diverse gastronomy and exuberant natural beauty in Brazil and throughout Latin America, and the show is an excellent opportunity to connect exhibitors and market players in order to highlight to the world what makes us different. We connect people and continents”, she points out.

Open to: travel and tourism professionals; press (credentials restricted to publishers, journalists, photographers, broadcasters and bloggers/influencers); government authorities and “Buyers” (only buyers who fit the programme criteria can be issued with a WTM Buyers’ Club badge).
