World Travel Market, the leading global event for the travel industry, has opened registration for WTM 2014.
WTM 2014, which takes place between Monday 3 – Thursday 6 November, is the 35th World Travel Market and is poised to be the biggest and best yet. WTM 2013 saw more than 50,000 participants, including 8,500 buyers conducting business worth more than £2.2 billion.
WTM 2014 sees the event’s opening hours extended to start at 9am (previously 10am) to help facilitate even more industry business. Furthermore, Wednesday will open until 8pm with a raft of exhibitors hosting ‘WTM Festivals’ from 6pm to celebrate WTM’s 35th event.
The final day of WTM 2014 will see WTM Blogger Speed Networking introduced, while WTM will also host industry charity The Family Holiday Association’s annual conference.
Furthermore, two hugely successful initiatives introduced at WTM 2013 will continue this year.
- The Travel Technology Show, which became a stand-alone event last year for the first time, will be a further 25% bigger. Meaning it has doubled its size in the past four years. It will take place alongside WTM for all four days (3-6 November).
- A Taste of ILTM at WTM, in association with fellow Reed Travel Exhibition’s event International Luxury Travel Market, will take place on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 November. It will see 60 luxury buyers from the UK meet with 60 global luxury exhibitors.
WTM 2014 Events Programme includes the new Spa & Wellness Programme, which will sit alongside the established Responsible Tourism, Technology, Social Media, Blogging, Aviation and Hotels programmes.
In total more than 100 sessions will take place at WTM 2014. WTM 2013 saw more than 16,000 delegates (8,482 unique people) attend its events programme.
World Travel Market, Senior Director, Simon Press said: “World Travel Market continues to improve every year, with 2014 poised to be the biggest and best yet. WTM 2013 saw a record number of visitors, delegates attend the events programme and the amount of business conducted because of WTM.
“This year WTM celebrates its 35th event and is extending the opening hours of the event to mark this landmark. This will help exhibitors conduct even more business than last year’s £2.2 billion, while Wednesday evening we will celebrate the past three and half decades with the WTM Festivals.”
