Major technology companies from the market are involved in the presentation programme and will lead debates that are important for modernizing the industry
The fifth edition of WTM Latin America, which is taking place on 4 – 6 April at the same time as the 47th Braztoa Business Event in Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo, recognizes the important contribution that technology makes to tourism year after year. That is why one of the main activities, The Travel Tech Show at WTM, is a particularly prominent feature of the event, with its seminars and conferences. The agenda will take place in the Travel Tech Auditorium, which will share this space with technology exhibitors, which are all concentrated in an exclusive area in WTM Latin America.
The Travel Tech Show at WTM, the world’s largest travel technology event that was launched at WTM Latin America two years ago, is also successful at other company events in other countries, such as WTM London. With its seminars and conferences, the event strengthens the participation of technology exhibitors at WTM, thereby increasing the topic’s visibility. In this space participating companies have the opportunity to present the latest developments in the field and to discuss trends with the visitors.
Topics that will be discussed in the 2017 edition include trends and innovative models for digital tourism, the current profile of the travel consumer, the growth in e-commerce and online reservations in the region, Big Data and aviation and the role of digital influencers in a company’s marketing strategy. The event will also deal with successful cases of tourism blogs, using an approach that will consider setting up the company, the work routine, forms of monetization, profitability and expenses.
The speakers will include professionals from companies such as Omnibees, Phocuswright, Amadeus, Cloudbeds, PKFARE, TravelClick and Voopter and the conference agenda is full of subjects that are extremely topical today, such as Big Data, which is an important data analysis tool for serving consumers better and for creating more assertive products and services based on data analysis and cross-referencing.
Lawrence Reinisch, director of WTM Latin America, comments that “the impact of technology on the global tourism industry is growing and irreversible and it is our role to disclose the tools and trends that can enhance and develop the industry in the region even more.”
