Mato Grosso do Sul is one of the highlights of WTM Latin America

With 10 co-exhibitors, the State will have a massive presence at the event and will support lectures on technology and responsible tourism

São Paulo, July 20th 2021 – The state of Mato Grosso do Sul will be one of the exhibitors at the WTM Latin America Virtual, the main event in the tourism segment aimed at the B2B audience in Latin America, which takes place on the 10th, 11th, and 12th of August. The Brazilian destination will rely on a robust participation during the event, including a virtual booth with 10 co-exhibitors, a special initiative in the Sacola de Ofertas Digital [the Digital Offer Bag], a presentation of the destination to Hosted Buyers and travel agents of the Agente na Estrada [Agent on the Road] program, in addition to being responsible for supporting the lectures on Responsible Tourism and Technology.

Located in the South of the Mid-West Region, Mato Grosso do Sul is one of the 27 federative units of Brazil. The capital and the most populated city of the State is Campo Grande, which attracts tourists all year round. Besides Campo Grande, there are other alluring spots in the State, which receive many visitors from Brazil and other countries as well.

To Bianca Pizzolito, Commercial Manager at WTM Latin America, the participation of the State in the event will be enriching. “To have Mato Grosso do Sul as one of the content sponsors of the event is much relevant. It reflects the power of the initiatives that have been developed by the destination in the market. Furthermore, that being a destination, it attracts tourists from Brazil and the world. Its participation enhances the event’s dynamics even more, whilst favoring the tourism professionals who participate in the WTM Latin America.”

The city of Bonito, for instance, is one of the ecotourism sites that is following all of the safety protocols and has resumed the reception of tourists in its attractions in July 2020. In that same year, the city registered 145 thousand visits. Apart from that, the Pantanal of Mato Grosso also attracts tourists interested in exploring and getting to know more of the natural riches that exist in the region.

Bruno Wendling, CEO of the Fundação de Turismo de Mato Grosso do Sul [The Tourism Foundation of Mato Grosso do Sul] (FundturMS), sees the participation in WTM Latin America as an opportunity to further activate the destination. “This is one of the most important fairs of the industry in the country, especially for B2B. So, with this initiative, we hope to strengthen our destination even more and assist in this resumption of travel by means of a wide range offer of competitive products in the market”, he notes. In addition to Mato Grosso do Sul, which is one of the highlights of this edition, WTM Latin America Virtual will feature representatives from all of the Brazilian States.
