Insights for the event’s 2020 edition along with new business formats were presented at the meeting
WTM Latin America’s Director Luciane Leite and the Advisory Board’s Chair Adriana Cavalcanti welcomed the event’s advisors at Reed Exhibition’s headquarters, in order to discuss strategies and innovations for the 2020 edition, which will be held between March 31st and April 2nd, at the Expo Center Norte exhibition centre, in the city of São Paulo.
The major novelty presented by the event’s management was the loosening of commercial formats which, starting next year, will include WTM Live – these are special actions which are sponsored both by the event’s exhibitors as well as by companies that are not exhibitors, and which are focused on connecting the brands to the B2B public.
The group also discussed tools and activities that will provide the event with a differentiated impetus that is more connected to the audience present, as well as high quality content that will be of use to the participants in their professional lives.
At the end, the advisors provided insights for the activities that have already been confirmed for the 2020 edition, such as Women in Travel, Travel Forward and the Responsible Tourism Award, which will recognize the best initiatives in four categories. “We have come out of this meeting today with a lot of ideas that can be put into practice and with an exceptional exchange of knowledge, given that we have professionals of the very highest standard here with us,” stresses Adriana.
The Board meeting also featured a presentation by the managing partner of the law firm Viera Rezende Advogados, Camila Borba Lefevre, who spoke with the advisors regarding the General Data Protection Act, explaining the regulation and what companies can and cannot do with people’s data that has been collected.
Luciane emphasizes the advisors’ involvement and the excellent ideas that came out of the meeting. “The work entailed in the development of WTM Latin America is an on-going affair. We look for references and trends that can be applied at our next meeting, and this good relationship that we have with our advisors really helps in terms of producing an event with even greater quality and delivery,” adds the executive.
