These meetings are part of a strategy for recognizing market needs and generating opportunities.
WTM Latin America’s team met up with Air Europa, Copa Airlines, Orinter Tour & Travel and AMPRO Live Marketing for yet another round of the “Leader Meetings” organized by the entity. The idea of these meetings is to discuss recurring market themes and to understand the players’ needs, generating networking opportunities and presenting different partnership options for the event’s 8th edition, which will take place between March 31 and April 2, 2020, in the city of Sao Paulo (in the State of Sao Paulo).
The encounter between WTM Latin America’s Director, Luciane Leite, Thais Del Ben, WTM’s Marketing Manager, Bianca Pizzolito, WTM’s Sales Manager and Gonzalo Romero, Air Europa’s General Manager and Claudia Shishido, Air Europa’s Commercial Manager for Brazil was marked by the debate regarding trends and the quest for positive results for the future of both the airline and of the event. “We had a very productive meeting. WTM always keeps a close eye on the market’s trends and provides its partners with differentiated solutions and options. We hope that this meeting will bring good results for both sides and that the next event will include even more options for the participants”, said Romero.
New opportunities for the events and incentive travel segment were also covered. This time round at a meeting with Patricia Segatto Palley, AMPRO Live Marketing’s Executive Director. As far as the executive in question was concerned, there are a great many possibilities in terms of partnership between WTM and the entity. “We have a lot of work synergy and we will be looking for ways to promote meetings between agents and promoters of destinations, providing relevant information for generating business,” declares Patrícia.
The meeting with Ana Maria Berto, managing director and partner of Orinter Tour & Travel, addressed the improvements that WTM can bring in relation to tour operators. “In an attempt to raise the professional level of the event, we talked about the implementing of a schedule in terms of meetings between the caravans and operators. This is a way to give the companies even greater room and get them more interested in participating next year”, states the executive.
Rounding out the agenda for the period, WTM Latin America executives met up with Copa Airlines’ regional sales manager for Mercosur, Carlos Antunes, and presented the different activities and actions possible for the event’s 2020 edition. According to the executive “Brazil is a key market for Copa Airlines and alignment with WTM Latin America reinforces the country’s importance for achieving our global goals in the Americas,” declared the regional sales manager.
WTM Latin America’s executive board’s schedule in terms of meetings and get-togethers is extensive and is spread across the entire tourism chain. “Our aim with these contacts is to listen to the market so that, based on the scores and needs presented, we can come up with mechanisms at our event to satisfy these demands and contribute to the market’s development and growth. The establishment of closer links with the airlines and with entities that talk with our sector is absolutely crucial in order to deliver greater quality and an even stronger event in 2020”, concludes Luciane.
