The International Travel and Tourism Awards team are busy pulling together a panel of independent credible industry experts, business leaders and senior advisors from around the world to sit on the judging panel for these exciting and brand new awards. We feel this is key to enhancing the award programmes prestige, independence and integrity.
As the judging plays such a vital role in the awards, finding the right people with the relevant industry knowledge and category specific skillset has been no easy task. To ensure these awards remain impartial and honest we’ve been careful to ensure stakeholder ties with travel destinations and companies, nor trade partner publications will influence the judging process that takes place in any way.
All judges will also be given the right to abstain from particular categories if a conflict of interest is apparent.
Luckily, the team already have some great relationships formed with industry professionals and by using our contacts in the key markets that WTM operate in, we’ve been able to approach, enlist and form new relationships with some excellent judges for the inaugural International Travel & Tourism Awards.
Co-chairing the line-up of judges, we have Sandra Carvão, Chief of Communications, World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and Nick Pilbeam, Divisional Director, Reed Exhibitions. We feel that both are excellent, well-respected candidates with a broad knowledge of the industry, impartial views and possess a high level of experience.
Other judges on the panel include Jeanine Pires, Director of Pires e Associados, previously President of Brazil’s Tourist Board EMBRATUR. Ian Johnson, Founder of one of the worlds ‘Top 10 Diversity Consultancys’. Caroline Bremner, Head of Travel for market research company Euromonitor International and Nick Hall, CEO & Founder of Digital Tourism Think Tank, considered one of the tourism industry’s leading experts on destination marketing.
The judging line up is by no means complete so if you think you would make an excellent judge then please feel free to drop us a line.

The judges will meet in July to decide the 13 gold and silver award winners and any highly commended entries, and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 6 November 2018 at London’s historic Tobacco Dock.
