Visitors to WTM London are invited to make time to visit an exciting new attraction, just up the road from ExCeL.
Tickets are now on sale for visitors to experience the former Olympic Stadium, venue for the successful London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with the launch of brand new behind-the-scenes tour.
Now called the London Stadium, the former Olympic Stadium is home to Premier League football team West Ham United and the national home of UK Athletics.
It sits within one of the largest and greenest parks in London, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with beautiful parklands and waterways, arts and events and spectacular views from the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Westfield Shopping Centre is close by.
Tour participants can follow in the footsteps of global sporting superstars and discover the story of the London 2012 Games, the history and future of West Ham United Football Club and learn about UK Athletics events during a 90-minute multimedia tour.
Every visitor will have a hand held device that will play video and interactive content on their journey through the venue showing interviews with footballers and athletes as well as highlights from the history of the Stadium, UK Athletics and West Ham United.
And of course there will be the opportunity to step foot in areas of the venue where some of sports greatest athletes have stood, including the competitor’s entrance, home dressing room, warm up track, player’s tunnel, the dugouts and on the side of the pitch.
Linda Lennon, London Stadium Chief Executive Officer, commented: “This Stadium already has an amazing history from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Rugby World Cup 2015. It has an even more exciting future as the home of West Ham United and UK Athletics.
“The Stadium Tours offers a unique opportunity to get behind the scenes and put yourself in the shoes of the great athletes who have graced this iconic venue.”
