Visitors to WTM can find out about a national visitor campaign to mark 400 years since the Mayflower set sail from the UK.

The celebrations do not take place until 2020, but work is already underway to raise awareness across the globe.

Leading the way is the Mayflower 400 partnership, made up of 11 destinations across England that have historic connections to the ship’s passengers and crew.
The partnership was formed to leverage on the opportunities this significant anniversary creates and deliver a world-class series of events, art, community engagement and visitor trails that will commemorate the voyage.

A national programme has been developed which includes 10 new experience-based itineraries and a new dedicated website (www.mayflower400uk.org/).

Of over 25 million Mayflower descendants worldwide, over 10 million are US citizens and engagement of the US travel market is already underway, with tour operators now selling Mayflower 400 UK packages.

It is estimated the partnership will drive growth of over 1.4 million visitors during 2020, with an economic impact in excess of £76 million creating around 2,000 jobs.
