Bradley International Airport in the US continues to grow, with recent direct transatlantic connections helping it to achieve four consecutive year of year-over-year passenger growth.

This summer, rapidly growing long-haul low-cost carrier Norwegian Air started a year-round service to Edinburgh, operating three times a week, with a twice-weekly schedule during the winter season.

Norwegian joins Aer Lingus which also operates a direct transatlantic service. The Irish carrier has operated a service to Dublin for more than a year from the airport which has the tagline “Love the journey”.

With the continued support of its owner, Connecticut Airport Authority,  passengers can now choose to fly to more than 30 domestic and international nonstop destinations from Hartford, New England, a short driving distance to New York and Boston.

The authority’s chairman Charles R Gray said: “These new international route highlights Bradley Airport’s continued growth and is a reflection of Bradley’s growing popularity among European carriers.”
