Arizona’s Grand Canyon To Celebrate Centenary In 2019

The Grand Canyon National Park will celebrate its 100th anniversary as a National Park in 2019.

Celebrations will be taking place throughout the year at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which welcomes about six million domestic and international visitors each year.

Elsewhere in the state of Arizona next year, there will be celebrations to mark 50 years since the first moon landing, highlighting the fact that the Apollo 11 astronauts were trained in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Other highlights being promoted at WTM London by the Arizona Office of Tourism include adventure tours by Arizona Outback Adventures; a new foodie website called ExpeditionFoodieAZ.com; a new luxury resort at Castle Hot Springs; and the designation of the Petrified Forest National Park Designation as a Night Sky Park – making it ideal for stargazing.
