The 2026 World Island Exhibition joins WTM London 2025

The 2026 World Island Exhibition, the first exhibition for the island, will be held in Yeosu, Republic of Korea, from September 5 to November 5, 2026. Under the theme ‘Island, Connecting the Ocean and the Future’, it is an international festival where all the island countries and regions gather to share their culture, seek sustainability, and find a better way to international relations.

To promote the exhibition, the organizing committee of the 2026 World Island Exhibition will join World Travel Market London this time. The promotion booth is on N9-410 and visitors will experience of making a hand mirror with mother-of-pearl, a korean traditional craft and a plaything that was in K-pop Demon Hunters. 

About 30 island possessing countries and regions as well as international organizations and island experts will join the exhibition. Through this event, Yeosu City will put itself into the global hub of island exchange and innovation.

Jinmo district of Dolsan, the main venue of the exhibition, will be a place for K-pop concert and various island theme performances. Through its eight theme pavilions including island marine ecology, island future, and island culture, visitors will join the moment to see the past, present, and the future of the island.

Gaedo Island and Geumodo Island, the sub-venues, will offer visitors a range of activities, including island trail trekking, camping, and dining. In Expo Ocean Park, the third sub-venue, will open academic events such as the World Island Forum and World Island Cities Conference.

Mr. Hyeong-Geun Cho, Director General of the Planning Department in the organizing committee, said, “The World Island Exhibition is an event that brings all the islands together in one place to promote the value of the island with unlimited potential in many dimensions, including ecology, culture, and economy. We are proud that our city, Yeosu, which contains 365 islands in the district, will welcome all the islands in the world. Any country that would love to introduce its islands will be welcome anytime to visit our booth (N9-410)”
