Planhotel Hospitality Group is opening a new conference centre in the historic town of Malindi, Kenya.

The Diamonds Conference Center intends to welcome conferences, meetings, shows, weddings and banquets. It has the capacity for 500 guests.

Sara Rosso, president of Planhotel, explained: “We would like to develop modern tourism products to diversify the market demands from the normal leisure and beach tourism and attract conference tourists who will now have space to meet in both small and large numbers.”

The new venue joins Diamonds Dream of Africa, Sandies Tropical Village and Sandies Malindi Dream Garden in the town. It is close to the existing properties, benefiting from the hotels’ food and beverage outlets, swimming pools, spa, gym and a diving and watersport centre

Planhotel is based in Lugano, Switzerland and brings “local traditions, Italian style and design and customer service” to its managed properties around the Indian Ocean.
