Registration for accreditation for the 7th edition of WTM Latin America 2019 that takes place in São Paulo from 2 – 4 April at Expo Center Norte is now open. Accreditation for the 2019 edition comes integrated with the social media, which makes it faster and more convenient for visitors to register. The leading global event for the tourism and travel industry in Latin America opens the sector’s annual diary and brings to São Paulo 600 exhibitors representing some 50 countries and an average of 12,000 professionals from the tourism industry in Latin America and the world.
Among the new features of this edition is the new identity of the travel agents’ programme, which was developed in partnership with the Interamerican Network. Entitled “Agent on the Road”, the programme offers an interactive mobile app that allocates points and rewards the travel agent by way of a healthy and entertaining competition. It also makes for greater interaction during the event between the nearly 700 travel agents, who come from every state in Brazil, and the exhibiting operators.
Something else that’s new in the Latin American edition is the Women in Travel programme, which is already a feature of WTM London, WTM Africa and ATM (Arabian Travel Market). It has been included in the Latin America edition with the primary objective of providing guidance for professional women who work in the market, who invest in their careers and who are entrepreneurial, while supplying them with personalized content and mentoring. This particular project is led by Alessandra Alonso, founder of the company of the same name.
Repeating the initiatives that were successful last year, WTM Latin America is keeping the International Pavilion in 2019, which is an area that gives small and medium-sized private companies that come from various destinations the opportunity to be part of the event.
The Inspire Theatre is also continuing with a series of presentations and debates about the tourist sector and wide-ranging topics involving strategic speakers. Specialists will discuss what’s new in the sector and industry news, and encourage relevant reflection on current issues.
The topic of Responsible Tourism is also on the agenda again, as are innovations in the technological field involving names that are considered benchmarks in the market.
WTM Latin America’s identity is also complemented by the Speed Networking Sessions, a successful series of events that facilitates contact between buyers and exhibitors in a short space of time, and by the WTM Buyers’ Club, a business club for senior travel industry executives.
The Corporate Tourism programme also makes its presence strongly felt in this edition. Once again it has its own area that is exclusive but that has been expanded this year, allowing for more activities to be received from partners in the sector.
Various Brazilian and international destinations have already confirmed they will be at the event, as have partners from the private sector, accommodation facilities, tour operators, airlines, car rental companies, and representatives from other sectors.
