Tour Operators’ Area: WTM Latin America presents a direct relationship model with Brazil’s tour operators

New relationship phase boosts the presence of different operator profiles and formats

“We will continue to work to enable tour operators to take part in WTM Latin America”. This statement was made by Luciane Leite, the event’s director general, at the time of presenting the Tour Operators’ Area, an area reserved for Brazilian operators within Latin America’s main travel industry event.

As of this edition, operators can take part in WTM Latin America based on two main formats: the Tour Operators’ Area and their own stands, which were already provided at the previous editions. More than a space, the executive makes a point of stressing that the Tour Operators’ Area unveils a new direct relationship model with the operators which has been worked on since the middle of 2017 as part of the strategy to occupy the environment that was previously reserved for Braztoa associates.

Traditionally and over the course of the last five years, WTM Latin America was paying Braztoa to operate the Brazilian tour operators’ pavilion during the event. From now on, the investment will be channeled directly to this area, which makes the process more responsive and financially more appealing to the exhibitors.

The focus of the 6th edition of the event, which will take place between April 3rd and April 5th, 2018, at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, continues to be on generating business for the hundreds of domestic and international players who are part of the event’s agenda and it maintains its commitment to tour operators, who will continue to receive support with the running of their business and with access to global, regional and local travel providers by means of the road shows organized by WTM.

Since it was first launched in 2013, WTM Latin America has provided substantial investment and support in order to ensure that its customers have a platform for building their business in Latin America and throughout the world. During the five-year period that it has been held in Brazil, the event has been responsible for generating roughly US$ 2 billion (R$ 6.3 billion) of new business in the travel industry, including U$ 374.4 million in relation to the 2017 event.

“WTM Latin America is even more committed to investing in Brazil’s tour operators. As in previous years, the pavilion will give you the chance to do business with an unparalleled variety of buyers from Brazil, Latin America and the rest of the world”, explains Luciane Leite.

In 2017, the fifth edition of the event attracted almost 8 thousand visitors, including the most important professionals in the Latin America travel industry, and which represented an 18% increase vis-à-vis the previous year. Approximately 50 countries and 600 exhibitors took part in WTM Latin America 2017, generating more than US$ 374.4 million in new business.
