Trends impacting the industry, results from sectoral research, and data on traveler behavior are themes of the thematic theater during the event
Once again, WTM Latin America innovates in the “Trends” programming, a thematic theater that focuses on sharing data and key information to potentially guide businesses in different segments.
“This is the space where we highlight what brands understand as trends, how they work with these tools, and how the industry is behaving to provide insights to professionals who can adapt the ideas and apply them to their businesses,” summarizes Virginia Marques, Marketing Manager of WTM Latin America. “To enhance education, we will also have a discussion on career development in tourism,” she adds.
Among the confirmed names are consultants Marta Poggi and Jeanine Pires, experts who take the stage at “Trends” to discuss the future of tourism from different perspectives. While the former will address the topic with emphasis on the paths this industry is taking and the possible opportunities and challenges, the latter will highlight the data that pave this path by revealing the highlights of the Latin American travel market.
Starting from this edition, WTM Latin America also commits to a diversity goal that applies to Trends and the other two thematic theaters – Transformation and Technology. Professionals representing minorities should lead or participate in at least 50% of lectures, panels, and discussions on various topics. “We no longer want the Black person to only speak about Afro-tourism or the wheelchair user to participate exclusively in accessibility-related matters. We will have professionals with disabilities, LGBTQIA+, and Black individuals addressing diverse topics throughout the program,” Virginia reveals.
“This is an objective diversity guideline that we established from the moment of aligning the content that will be offered to visitors in our theaters, and it was fully supported by the curators with special attention to this year’s motto that calls everyone to build the future of the activity,” emphasizes Bianca Pizzolito, head of WTM Latin America. “It is a positive challenge and one that we commit to the market, because if we assume the role of highlighting change, we must also be the change,” Virginia concludes.
The complete schedule of lectures, panels, and discussions will be available on the WTM Latin America website, which takes place between April 15th and 17th, at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo. Free and mandatory for attendance, regardless of visitor category, accreditation is already available on the website, from pages in Portuguese, English or Spanish.
