WTM Global Hub webinar will show the “Not So Smooth Path to Returning to Business”

WTM Global Hub has opened registration for its next digital webinar taking place on Thursday 20 August at 2pm (BST). The title – “Bounce Back: The Not So Smooth Path to Returning to Business” – reflects the headwinds facing all parts of the travel ecosystem while adding a note of realism to the conversation.

In light of the ever-changing global travel landscape, the WTM Global Hub has secured two speakers with experience of helping destinations recover from man-made or natural disasters.

Carol Hay has spent 25+ years in the travel industry, holding a variety of senior sales, marketing and business development positions. Her speciality is the Caribbean, a region whose tourism industry is regularly disrupted by hurricanes and tropical storms. She was director of the UK and European operations of Caribbean Tourism Organization for more than a decade, helping businesses cope with the fall-out of some of the biggest weather events to hit the region.

She is also an advocate for inclusivity, equality and diversity and is a regular speaker on the digital and physical tourism conference circuit.

Nicole Antonio-Gadsdon is the other speaker. She is the founder of Banana Pepper HR, a consultancy specialising in bringing a fresh and creative approach to HR for brands and destinations.

Her experience, also mainly gained through working with Caribbean destinations, is in how brands and destinations can put their employees at the heart of not only their business but also the guest experience. She oversaw the empowering of staff and employees to drive the re-opening of Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island after Hurricane Irma and also the launch of Moskito Island as a private luxury resort.

This hands-on experience informs her strategy in helping these and other properties in the region bounce back after COVID-19.

Listeners to the webinar will come away with talking points around the role of staff and employees within a travel brand or destination’s recovery, as well as some best-case examples of how to start a recovery and maintain it during an uncertain global landscape.

Claude Blanc, World Travel Market Portfolio Director, said: “The speakers for our “HR” webinar understand the harsh reality of the road to recovery for destinations and brands after a major disruption, and are willing to share their advice and insights to a global audience.”

The webinar takes place on Thursday 20th August at 2pm (BST). Click here to register.
