TAP Enhances Fleet

TAP Air Portugal is modernising its fleet and have become the first airline in the world to operate the new A330-900neo aircraft.

As well being equipped with the new Airspace cabin interior, the A330neo consumes up to 14% less fuel per seat, making it the world’s most efficient wide-bodied aircraft.

By 2025, TAP will have 71 new aircraft that are more modern, more comfortable and are at the cutting edge of technology offering 15% more efficiency in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The modernisation of TAP’s fleet with the most advanced aircraft available on the market will enable the company to improve its service and extend to new destinations in an even more efficient way, improving its competitiveness in the global market and contributing both to Portugal’s growing importance as an Atlantic airline hub and to attracting more tourists to the country.

TAP’s new route between London City Airport and Porto launched on March 25 2018 in addition to its service already available from London Gatwick.

The reinforced offering from London City follows TAP’s launch of the London City-Lisbon route in October 2017, and showcases its commitment to working with the Airport, conveniently located in the city’s financial centre.

From June 2018, TAP also boosted its long-haul operation with four more flights each week to São Paulo and one more to Brasilia and Belo Horizonte in Brazil, and to Toronto in Canada, all accessible to UK travellers via TAP’s hub in Lisbon

The reinforcements of TAP’s network in 2018 highlight the airline’s ongoing strategic focus on the UK market, and its commitment to offering travellers an abundance of choice, whether Portugal is their stop of choice or if they are maximising TAP’s extensive network to travel further afield.

Even when the final destination is not Lisbon or Porto, passengers can still explore the destination by taking advantage of the Portugal Stopover programme on their way out or during their return flight, stopping for up to five nights for no additional charge to their fare.
