Millennium gets down to business

Global hospitality group Millennium Hotels & Resorts (MHR) will be updating WTM visitors on a series of new developments for 2019.

Delegates can find out the latest on the company’s new business product, its recently-announced partnership with Chinese platform Ctrip, and its new and improved loyalty scheme.

MHR’s brand-new corporate bookings product, Millennium for Business, is a new digital programme, replacing its Business Direct service.

Millennium for Business has been designed for SMEs, with an intuitive online booking experience that is integrated with the MyMillennium rewards programme.

The dedicated service, with a simple social sign-on and central dashboard, allows the business to manage travel, make itinerary style bookings, cater to team member needs and earn rewards.

All bookings benefit from the updated MHR’s Best Rate Promise, which helps maximise budgets. The service also gives travel managers access to insights and reporting.

MHR collaborated with the SME travel industry to design the benefits on offer to Millennium for Business users and guests. Benefits include regular room upgrades, 15% off on all dining and events, early check-in and late check-out, and access to club or executive lounge.

This new programme is available across all of MHR’s hotels in Asia, Europe, Middle East and the US. London, Paris, New York, Beijing, Los Angeles, Singapore and other destinations are on offer to the SME’s for combining business and leisure trips, an up and coming trend seen within travel.

MHR’s SVP of digital, distribution & revenue strategy, Nayan Peshkar, said: “SME travel managers told us they wanted a service that personalised corporate travel, and was also secure and fitted into their travel policies.

“Millennium for Business is a product that empowers SMEs as the key target booker, having seen how under-represented they are in the business travel sector. This purely digital platform makes travel procurement efficient, secure and simple.”

Visitors can also find out more about the group’s MyMillennium guest reward programme, launched earlier this year, a simplified loyalty programme with a number of enhancements.

Chief marketing officer Franck Kermarrec said: “A key part of the new rewards programme is to offer points that are immediately redeemable, so guests can upgrade, access discounted amenities and services or exclusive experiences at the point of booking.

“We have designed rewards to personalise members’ travel experiences allowing them to choose benefits that are important to them.”

In March, Millennium Hotels signed a deal with outbound travel platform giant Ctrip, which will see the company promote MHR properties to Ctrip’s 300-million-strong customer base.

The strategic collaboration agreement also sees MHR partner with Ctrip’s membership programme, which will certify its properties as ‘Chinese Friendly Hotels’ and enable them to benefit from Ctrip’s influential ranking system.

Ctrip is the number one platform for Chinese nationals travelling overseas. About one in four Chinese citizens use Ctrip to book and search for outbound flight tickets, making it the world’s largest outbound travel platform.
