Sun Resorts announce new CEO

Visitors to the Mauritius stand can meet the new CEO of Sun Resorts, who will share details of new developments for the upmarket hotel chain.

Sun Resorts, one of the leading hotel and leisure groups in the Indian Ocean, with properties in Mauritius and the Maldives, recently announced the appointment of Francois Eynaud.

He joined in September, from Veranda Leisure & Hospitality, where he was CEO. He takes the helm during a pivotal time for Sun Resorts.

At WTM, Sun Resorts will also be showcasing a number of recent enhancements including renovations of the popular five-star resort, Sugar Beach Mauritius, in Flic-en-Flac, on the island’s west coast. The extensive modernisation programme includes renovations across the room categories and F&B offerings.

On the other side of the island, the flagship Long Beach Mauritius, fringing the famed beach at Belle Mare, has also seen an enhancement to its offering this year, with renovations including elegant new guest room layouts and the re-design of the lobby, with a unique welcome experience via a Rum Academy where guests are greeted with a rum cocktail and the sounds of a live DJ.

On his appointment, Francois Eynaud commented: “I look forward to steering Sun Resorts through an exciting time as we continue to strengthen the group’s market positioning, and raise the bar in levels of service and hospitality across our properties.

“With a strong and popular portfolio across Mauritius and the Maldives, we have a constant desire to improve and reinvent our offering by evolving our guest experience and facilities and I look forward to presenting our latest updates to the market and continuing to increase interest and awareness.”

Sun Resorts places great emphasis on its commitment to creating ‘Timeless Memories’ – carefully curated bespoke experiences across each of its hotels – from water-sports, wall-climbing and archery, as well as personal beach butlers and luxury private cabanas at Long Beach Mauritius, to cooking classes, night-time cinema and star gazing by boat at night at Kanuhura Maldives.

Headquartered in Mauritius, with over three decades of hospitality experience, Sun Resorts owns and manages five luxury resorts.
