Texan tourist boards hail heritage and hotels

A host of hotels will open in the Texan cities of Dallas and Fort Worth in 2020.

A new Autograph Collection boutique hotel called Hotel Drover will make its debut in Fort Worth’s Stockyards attraction in January 2020.

The 200-room four-star hotel will celebrate the district’s history and cowboys who drove cattle across the plains to Fort Worth.

Meanwhile, the historic Mule Alley at Stockyards will see the opening of new shops, restaurants and entertainment venues in January 2020.

Dallas will see the opening of two hotels: Virgin Hotels Dallas and The Pittman Hotel.

Opening in December 2019, Virgin Hotels Dallas will be the third Virgin Hotels property in the US and the first in Texas.

The Pittman Hotel will open in 2020 with 164 rooms, a pool and a grand ballroom where the legendary American Blues and gospel musician, Lemon Henry ‘Blind Lemon’ Jefferson once performed.

Visit Dallas will also highlight cultural developments, such as major exhibitions at the African American Museum, and the recent opening of the Holocaust and Human Rights Museum.

Meanwhile, Visit Fort Worth will promote events such as the city’s annual Food and Wine Festival in April 2020, which will feature chefs, craft brewers and winemakers.
