Luxury hotel uniform designers switch to making face masks

Wearing face masks is known to be effective in reducing the spread of coronavirus, and one luxury uniform designer is diverting resources to help supply them.

Fashionizer Couture Uniforms usually make bespoke uniforms for luxury hotels and spas, including The Ned, The Belmond Cadogan Hotel and Zuri Zanzibar Resort. However, as demand for washable face masks has increased dramatically over the past few months, they have been busy developing prototypes and sourcing components. The masks are 100% cotton fabric and use CPF (Cotton Performance Fabric), a fabric which is normally used in their uniforms to keep therapists feeling cool and fresh while working in spa environments.

Etsy sellers have also turned their creative hands to making masks, including some pop culture and TV inspired prints. Curious Creations has Doctor Who and The Nightmare Before Christmas themed masks available in their shop, while AvocatoCrafts has created some Star Wars themed ones.

Disney themselves have also jumped on the face mask trend, creating versions with some of their most famous characters features printed on them. Their face masks will raise money for the charity MedShare and there are Marvey, Pixar, Star Wars and Disney Princess themed ranges available for purchase.
