ONYX to expand portfolio

ONYX Hospitality Group is keen to share its expansion plans at WTM London 2017, which will see a portfolio of 99 hotels across the Asia region by 2024.

The Thailand-based hospitality management company currently has 65 properties with 44 operating in eight countries under three core brands – Amari, OZO and Shama – and 21 properties in the development pipeline in locations such as Australia, Vietnam and Laos.

Among recent developments is the launch of the Amari brand in Sri Lanka, with the opening of Amari Galle Sri Lanka in the bustling seaside city of Galle, on the southwestern tip of the country, this summer.

Overlooking the Indian Ocean and surrounded by lush greenery on a beautiful beachfront, the hotel is within close proximity to attractions including the famous Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Other recent developments include the launch of Amari Yangshuo in Guilin, China and Amari Johor Bahru in southern Peninsula Malaysia.

Looking ahead, there are plans to open new properties in Laos, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Malaysia in the coming year.
